This slice is from one of several iron meteorites from Melville Bay, Greenland. It shows a typical
Widmanstätten pattern and troilite (iron sulfide) inclusions. Used as a source of iron for tools by
the local Inuit people, the meteorites were rediscovered by Robert Peary and transported to New York
after much effort.
