74051 HANCOCKITE, CLINOHEDRITE, XONOTLITE Franklin, NJ, USA $150.00
SOLD
Under short wave ultraviolet light (SuperBright 2000SW UV source)
Massive, somewhat vuggy, brick red hancockite with films and veins of clinohedrite (fl orange SW) and xonotlite (fl pale blue SW). This is some of the unique 'Parker Shaft' assemblage first encountered in 1898 which made Franklin famous. Hancockite, while fairly abundant at Franklin, is a rare lead and strontium bearing member of the epidote group virtually unknown outside of Franklin. Clinohedrite is almost unknown outside of Franklin as well and its bright orange fluorescence makes it very collectible. Specimen size - approx. 11 cm. X 8 cm. X 8 cm.
