  McGOVERNITE

  Sterling Mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex

  County, NJ, USA

   Thick seam of mcgovernite rosettes on typical

   Sterling ore. McGovernite is a rare mineral with

   an extremely complex structure and chemistry.

   It is unknown from Franklin and elsewhere.

  Massive compact red friedelite with lapidary potential on

  franklinite, calcite ore.

   Specimen size - approx 8 cm.  X  5.5 cm.  X  5.5 cm.

  Franklin, Sussex Co., NJ, USA

  Brown micaceous nelenite bands and

   augen with franklinite and rhodonite at

   a calcite contact. There is tirodite in the

   piece also.

    PHYLLOSILICATES - MICA GROUP

   HENDRICKSITE

   Franklin, Sussex County, NJ, USA

    Black mica crystals in minor calcite matrix.

    Hendricksite is basically a zinc rich phlogopite

    unique to the Franklin/Sterling Hill area.

    Unfortunately, the specimen has been repaired.

   Specimen size - approx 5.5 cm.  X  5 cm.  X  4.5 cm.
