MANGANAXINITE

Grey-white, micaceous barysilite on a slip
in massive manganaxinite. This is believed
to be an example of the first occurrence
described at Franklin ( so called "original
find").

HARDYSTONITE, WILLEMITE
Franklin, Sussex County, NJ, USA
Nice chunk of glassy green willemite with
hardystonite in calcite. Hardystonite was
fairly common at Franklin but is unknown
elsewhere, including Sterling Hill.
Under short wave ultraviolet
Specimen size - approx. 8.5 cm X 6.8 cm X 5.5 cm.
SOROSILICATES - EPIDOTE GROUP

HANCOCKITE, WILLEMITE
Franklin, Sussex County, NJ, USA,
Vuggy brick-red hancockite with a spot of
gemmy willemite. Hancockite is a lead bearing
member of the epidote group. Although it was
fairly abundant at Franklin, the mineral is almost
unknown elsewhere.
Specimen size - approx. 9 cm X 8 cm X 5 cm.

HANCOCKITE
Franklin, NJ
Massive brick red hancockite with a crystal filled vug
with datolite. A fine example of hancockite collected
years ago by Franklin miner Mike Massey.
Specimen size - approx 6 cm. X 4 cm. X 3.5 cm.
