  amphibole. Fluoresces blue under short-   

  wave utlraviolet light. This is assumed to

  be fluorapatite.

       Turneaurite, Franklin, NJ

 TURNEAUREITE

 Franklin, Sussex County, NJ

 Pale grey-green turneaureite with andradite

 in salmon calcite. Highly fluorescent.

 Turneaureite is an uncommon chlorine bear-

 ing member of the apatite group known from

 Franklin, Langban, Sweden, and  Balmat, NY.

 

       

    Specimen size - approx  19 cm X 9 cm X 5 cm

    Under short wave ultraviolet
