Mohave County, Arizona
Part of a fall estimated to have occurred
15,000 years ago, this meteorite shows
the weathering that would support that
estimation. Gold Basin meteorites were
found by gold prospectors who picked
them up with their metal detectors.

Chihuahua, Mexico
A slice of the Allende carbonaceous
chondrite showing the white calcium-
aluminum inclusions characteristic
of this meteorite. These inclusions are
considered to be some of the oldest
matter in the universe.
