Amethyst and chalcedony growth centered
on previous anhydrite or glauberite crystalliza-
tion, preserved as casts. Collected in 1948.

CHALCEDONY, SMOKY QUARTZ
Prospect Park Quarry, Paterson,
Passaic County, NJ
Smoky quartz on chalcedony in amygdaloidal
basalt. Small hematite plates and rosettes are
perched on the milky quartz in one vug.
Chalcopyrite is disseminated on the milky
quartz in another. Collected in 1942.
Specimen size - approx. 16.7 cm X 12 cm X 9 cm.

QUARTZ after AMPHIBOLE
'Carnelian Brook', Warren,
Somerset County, NJ
This material is known locally as 'tushenite'.
It is a chatoyant quartz similar to 'tiger eye'
found in the same stream deposits that pro-
duce carnelian.
Specimen size - approx. 9.8 cm X 7.5 cm X 1.2 cm.

AMETHYST, STILBITE,
HEULANDITE
Prospect Park Quarry, Paterson,
Passaic County, NJ
A 'finger' of amethyst with a glauberite
crystal cast core surrounded by chalcedony.
Fuzzy hematite balls occur on the amethyst.
A later generation of yellow stilbite and
heulandite occurs on one side of the finger
with pyrite cubes sprinkled on the zeolites.
Specimen size - approx. 8.2 cm X 4.2 cm X 4 cm.
