Greenish yellow znucalite crust on calcite. From 'footwall
drift, N. limb, North Orebody on 2350 level Sterling Mine
circa 1976' (Bostwick). The unusual name of this mineral
refers to its composition, zinc uranium calcium carbonate
hydroxide hydrate. If you like 'rare uglies', this one's for

by thin crust of overlaying calcite(?) creating an
unusual diffused effect. On non-fluorescent axinite(?),
andradite matrix. Very unusual!

Massive, platy red zincite with bright apple-green, massive willemite and some franklinite.
An excellent example of the unique Franklin ore that's unlike anything else on the planet!
There's no faking this stuff and they're not making any more of it as both mines, Franklin
and Sterling, are long closed. This little rock contains so much metal that it must weigh a
couple of pounds. In this view the back of the specimen is sawn.
